Objective

Students will explore a series of websites with the objective of gathering information on a Hispanic tradition known as Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead.) The assignment is to answer the questions at the bottom of the page and/or to write a short paper on the tradition.

The links on the Curriculum page are organized in categories. It is recommended that students access the categories in chronological order but the links within them can be accessed in any order. Plan to look at a minimum of two to three links in each category before attempting to answer the questions.

The Library contains a list of books on the Day of the Dead, some of which will be available at your school or public libraries. You will be able to answer the questions without doing any additional reading other than the text on the websites but some students may wish to supplement their knowledge of the subject, either for their own use or to better inform the paper your teacher may ask you to write.
